Owls & Eyeballs

Planted somewhere on a coastal island in the Gulf of Mexico is a lovely little seafood joint which sports the ability to not only cook up a decent plate of fried fish, they also sport a tuna steak which is $3 more than what the menu sports.  If that’s not enough, they’ll also prepare, cook up, or fry up any recently deceased varmint you bring in.  According to the menu, the price for them to cook up the grub you bring in is $TBD.

I would expect that it’s $3 more than that.

Not being a fan of seafood, I pondered taking a chub of ground meat in with a box of Hamburger Helper.  I opted for the chicken strip dinner instead.

An interesting thing about the restaurant, short of the menu’s ability to arbitrarily subtract $3 from a good slab of Mahi-Mahi is the guy charged with delivering the appetizers of fried cheese and onion rings.

Donned in a Broncos visor, a Broncos lanyard, and a Broncos t-shirt which says “Got Peyton?”, the young gentlemen pulls no punches about his favorite team.

So what, you may ask, does a passing reference to a seafood joint accented by Bronco fans who deliver the appetizers and vaguely priced tuna have to do with anything I could ever write about in these ongoing daily dispatches to the web?

Before I answer that, allow me to share a pic of a piece of contemporary art (for lack of a better word) which was hanging in the condo which housed yours truly this last weekend.

It’s accented with eyeballs and owls.

I’ve got to wonder if the Broncos fan is seeing things realistically for this coming season.  Will they actually live up to the hype?

For the record, I’ve been a Bronco fan since the 1977/1978 effort.  Knowing that, you should probably be able to figure out why I hate those debutantes and crackheads which play up there in Dallas.

To be honest, I’ve got to wonder about a team who picks up a 35 year old quarterback who’s coming off of a neck injury.  I’m not getting my hopes up, but Go Broncos none the less.

Speaking of “none the less”, I guess I should answer your question now.

Nothing.
