Masking

Just a few note about masks and then I’ll let you get back to whatever it is you do out here on the internet.

Item 1

I believe I’ve previously discussed my abhorrence to wearing a mask in the times in which we live.  The primary reason is because I build an overwhelming sense of anxiety-ridden claustrophobia when I affix that thing and start breathing hot breath on my face.

The secondary reason is that the one extra mask we have laying around here sports the Hogwarts coat of arms which implies I have a love for the Harry Potter series which is so undying that I would plaster it’s imagery across my mugly ug in hopes of protecting me and others not only from the virus de jour, but also a random hex or curse tossed by a dark wizard who’s only trying to protect his horcruxes.

In order to combat that particular issue, I took to the internet on May 14th and ordered a mask with a more patriotic bent to it.  The original delivery date was supposed to be by the end of day yesterday, May 29th.  For the last week, I’ve tracked that shipment, and all of the messages I received up to that point indicated that thing was going to show up last night.

It didn’t.

Last night, after the delivery time had passed, I checked it’s status.  There was a delay.  Delivery is now expected between May 30th and June 4th.

Fine.

Ironically enough, the point in all of this in which I decided to order a mask combined with the time it took to ship the thing to me, pretty much equals the time it’s taken for masks to start disappearing here in Texas.

So by the time it arrives, I won’t need it until the next outbreak gets blown out of proportion.

Item 2

I just need to make sure we’re all on the same page here about a particular subject that’s been in the news a lot lately.  At the same time, I want to clarify the distinction between a few elements of these news stories.

The unmasking of Michael Flynn has nothing to do with the coronavirus or COVID-19.

Just sayin’.
