Cabal Wanted – Inquire Within

There’s something to be said for brazenly publishing a lengthy scribe touting how the election this last year was saved from certain disaster.

“What a bunch of monkey fighting bullshit” comes to mind.

Set aside the “well-funded cabal of powerful people, ranging across industries and ideologies, working together behind the scenes to influence perceptions, change rules and laws, steer media coverage and control the flow of information.”

Forget about the fact that “they were not rigging the election; they were fortifying it.

Dispense with the mere thought that “the public needs to understand the system’s fragility in order to ensure that democracy in America endures.”

Those statements I lifted from the article and subsequently italicized into this post systematically pucker the vast collection of sphincters of those of us who doubt the integrity and transparency of the 2020 election.  Naturally, they’re the quotes being mentioned by all of the pundits in response to the gloating, and I’m not going to burn a lot of calories on those statements.  They’re low hanging fruit talking points which are designed to get ratings and clicks.

For those, two shits and a twist I could give.

Instead, I’m going to go walk the dog.  When I get back, I’m going to offer up my own three legged stool of a response.

I called it.

First of all, understand right here and now that I called this one.

For the last few months, that repressed little demon in the recesses of my soul has been feasting on what could be coined as Hillary’s Revenge on the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy.

That’s the storyline created in the imagination of yours truly where on the night of the 2016 election, Hillary didn’t go address her supporters because she was too busy hatching a plan to make the next four years for one Donald J Trump resplendent with attacks from all sides.

I never really voiced any of those ideas though.  Such a storyline was conspiratorial, the context of which was unfounded, unverifiable, and the product of confirmation bias.

At some point in November or December, I had a conversation about the election with a senior staff member of the organization and suggested there was some nefarious machine behind what had happened.

I didn’t commit any of that to the website here either, for the same reasons mentioned above.

Instead, I alluded to it on January 30th where I likened our 45th President to that of a kick-ass cleanup utility that was getting the job done.  I then went on to compare the unelected bureaucracy, the media, the leftists, and the swampy elements of our government to that of a nasty cabal of viruses, trojan horses, malware, and ransomware which was systematically being deactivated by the aforementioned cleanup utility.

The problem was that the nasty cabal had found a way to exploit the system, dispense with the cleanup utility, and reintegrate its way back into our lives.

I never expected to see confirmation of such lunacy outlined in such great detail as I did in the Time article; let alone within a matter of days of me dispatching it to an otherwise dull internet.

Stopping the Trump threat

There’s a running theme throughout the wordy tome which Time produced which discussed how this last year’s election was won.

That theme paints the well-funded cabal as a group of heroes bent on keeping ‘Merica from going over the cliff.  Trump was the bad guy who threatened our very democracy, and he needed to be ousted.

It’s understandable that those under the thumb of an autocratic dictator would do anything they could to depose their leader by any means possible.

Honestly now, what kind of threat to democracy did Trump pose?

Was it the tax cuts and deregulation which spurred the economy and reduced unemployment across the board?

Was it the shoring up of our relationship with Israel?

Was it in the way he took out the terrorists?

Was it the fact that he didn’t take us into any wars?

Was it about Russian collusion?

Was it the fine people hoax?

Was it the hoax about drinking bleach?

Was it about any of the other lies repeated day in and day out about him?

Was it his America First approach to things?

Or was it just that he’s a brash asshole who doesn’t hold back?

It would seem that the threat the cabal perceived about Trump was not one on democracy.

Nope.

He threatened them WITH democracy.

Where’s our cabal?

The cabal, in no uncertain terms, proved that it was possible to win the 2020 election with any candidate they wanted to; be it Biden (46*) and Harris, or a cage full of squirrels bumping uglies.

They proved our election system to be a fragile one, and they incorporated some insidious elements in their fortification process.

And then they bragged about it.

I want a “well-funded cabal of powerful people, ranging across industries and ideologies, working together behind the scenes to correct perceptions, uphold the rule of law, hold the media accountable for their coverage and demolish the power behind the freedom of the Suppress.

Where do we get one of those?
