Some time last month, an oil rig out in the Gulf of Mexico blew up. The resulting aftermath of said explosion has spilled a whole buttload (technical term) of oil into the gulf. The spill continues, as the parties responsible have been unable to stop the flow. Perhaps you’ve seen footage. Given the level of response provided by the administration to the latest crisis, the whole event has been referred to as Obama’s Katrina.
At the same time, the administration is now facing allegations that it offered some politician a job under the condition that he would exit a race for the Senatorial seat which Arlen Specter holds. Such an action is illegal, and could be deemed an impeachable offense.
In 16 months as our President, Barack Obama has taken incredible leaps and bounds to turn a deaf ear on the people and govern the way he sees fit. He’s exploded the deficit and governmental spending under the guise that such actions have been needed to undo the perceived damage from the previous administration. He’s gone all over the world and bowed to foreign leaders while at the same time apologizing for the fact that we’ve had to kick some major ass in our short history. He’s redefined the standard expected level of unemployment in this country to be 9% – 10%. He’s used the bully pulpit to lecture us about wasteful spending. He’s maligned private citizens from that same pedestal. He’s offered up opinions based on his misguided interpretations of laws considered at length by the United States Supreme Court and the state of Arizona. He’s installed all sorts of individuals who hold very radical beliefs into unaccountable positions within his administration. He’s validated that pursuit of a green life is an ambition driven by political ambitions instead of verifiable science. He’s taken over corporations and turned the fruits of that labor into sweet deals for various unions, while at the same time criticizing the rightful owners for trying to recoup their investments. He’s signed off of a law which forces the American people to participate in a specific form of commerce.
To those who have a different vision of what this country should be, the list of exploits which Obama chooses to etch on the monument to himself is probably an ugly one. Even still, I’m not inclined to believe the man will be sent packing to the private sector before he’s finished out a second term. As much as I would like to keep a positive outlook over the whole matter, I tend to see myself as the optimist who could drown in a half empty bathtub.
The warning signs about this man were very clear in the fall of 2008. We knew exactly what he was going to do. Why did we know? That’s simple.
He told us.
When he had that exchange with Joe the Plumber, he told us he wanted to redistribute our wealth. His agenda reeks of redistribution. He mentioned at one point that his cap and trade plan could make it hard for various industries to stay in business. The legislation which has been presented confirms that. In a radio interview from several years prior to the election, he discussed how he felt the Constitution restricts the government too much. His agenda continues to endeavor to put more power in the hands of the government.
He told us.
Face it people. The man rode into office on a wave which was created by elements in his own party who successfully deflected blame to the other guys. To this day, those same elements continue to weave their magic in order to solidify their utopian dreams of how things should really be and then lay them at the feet of their leader as if it were a first fruits offering. One would think that of all of the things this man has done and will do to this country before his first and hopefully only term is complete, his immediate departure from the Oval Office would be imminent.
The other day, I was at the grocery store and I saw a t shirt I hadn’t seen before. It was all black and it had a U.S. flag on it. The flag was black and white. It had no red and no blue on it. The shirt had one statement on it. “My President Is Black”. While technically the statement is incorrect, the big picture point of view conveys a message which answers question after question after question that those of us who said “No thanks” to the Kool Aid have had about this man for the last few years.
What does it really matter whether my President if black? Does that mean that the individual who was wearing the shirt voted for Obama because of his race? Of the 69+ million votes that Obama picked up in 2008, how many of them were based on his race alone?
Does his race make him any better of a President? Better yet, does it make him any worse of a President? Pick your favorite President from the first 43 who served. Was he a better President for having been white? The answer to all of those questions resonates in any and everything I’ve ever written about Obama’s race. The answer is “No.”
It’s not going to be that easy to get rid of him though. The man has his willing accomplices in the media along with the suffrage rights of the ill and uninformed. Based on his behavior as of late toward the state of Arizona, you can throw in the pseudo suffrage rights of the undocumented as well. People don’t want to vote on the issues over personality anymore. He has a resume from his time in office which would make any self respecting human resources representative be hard pressed to offer him a job doing the most meager of tasks. Even though he hasn’t earned himself a re-election in two years, I perceive the G.O.P. will throw another dud at him in 2012 while focusing more on either regaining, or retaining power in Congress instead.
Prove me wrong, but know this. Once you see the sun come up in the east on a regular basis, you learn to expect it there every morning.
Although you are probably right, I am hoping the people of this wonderful country will wake up (prior to 2012) and see that he is only out for himself.

This entire disaster with BP is idiocy. The measure of oil leaking into the Gulf of Mexico skyrocketed by 1000’s of drums Wednesday right after an underwater droid ostensibly struck the containment cap that has been capturing crude from BP’s Macondo well. I question how much devastation this whole disaster is going to cost the Gulf when it’s all said and done
