Just A Little Vertigo

This morning, ladies and gentlemen, I sit here in front of the new monitor, putting forth a valiant effort to dispatch to an otherwise dull internet another smattering of verbal brilliance which will endeavor to liven the place up.

Today’s requisite Everything Bagel has already been toasted, lovingly slathered, masticated, and washed down with a morning energy drink in which the flavor sports the name of one of the more surly blends of DNA which resides within my non-diverse lineage.

I’m currently receiving two non-verbal messages from two sources which will demand a little more of my attention than I want to provide right now.

One of those sources is my lower gastrointestinal tract, which is manufacturing a call to arms in a steady crescendo.

The other source is Faith, the TharpSter TreadMill who wants a walk.  I perceive her GI system is chanting “Let’s Do Something!” as well.  I think I may take her to the dog park this morning instead of patrolling the neighborhood for random varmints who choose to sit in the middle of the road nursing a hangover while holding up traffic.

It’s been awhile since I’ve taken her to the park, just like it’s been awhile since I’ve sat down here on a weekend morning to exercise my creativity…..

Or whatever this is.

Anyway, I’m given to understand nowadays that systemic racism is one of the biggest threats to ‘Merica.

To combat that, the more enlightened among us are undertaking the monumental task of incorporating a system to dispense with such beliefs and behaviors in favor of a more equitable approach to dealing with things.

This new system either has been or is being incorporated into our military, our corporate structure, our entertainment industry, and every level of our learning institutions.

The system is designed to identify inherently racist legal institutions which create and maintain social, economic, and political inequalities between people who are white and people who are non-white.

The end result is that students of the system are left believing that white people are oppressive.

By extension, that which is oppressive should be treated with extreme prejudice.

Let’s reword that a little.

A system is emerging in ‘Merica today which endeavors to treat white people with extreme prejudice.

Treating people with extreme prejudice based on the color of their skin is racist.

And so……

Systemic racism is being used to combat systemic racism.
