Right off the top of my flesh toned noggin, I don’t remember the exact date I coined the “Vote Responsibly Y’all” phrase.
;
Given the wonders of computers and what they can do, I could probably nail down the date the phrase and banner appeared here.
;
It was a component of my TharpSterLution this year, so that gives it at least ten months.
;
Here’s the problem with that statement that came to light during the night of the election. It was a prophetic framework for me to say “See I told you so.”
;
For those of you who have kids, please show some patience as I enlighten the offspring impaired.
;
As a parent, at one point or a other you’ll have to needle and harangue your kid to do something. You will explain the consequences. Even though you stay on their case consistently, you know the kid will either ignore the task or take their sweet ass time in completing it.
;
When it comes down to crunch time, the task has not been completed, or it’s come up short. At that point, you’re then all over their case about how they said things like “I’ll get it done” and “Leave me alone about it” throughout the whole time you needled them.
;
Your are then 100% justified in chewing them out until the cows coming home when they fail to git-r-done correctly or on time.
;
Of this I speak with experience from both sides of that conversation.
;
Ladies and gentlemen, the admonishment to vote responsibly came out of a foresight that things were going horribly awry.
;
Charismatic Democrats who run against establishment Republicans have created a trend in the last 20 years of getting re-elected.
;
It’s as easy as that.
;
That’s why I continued on with my battle cry during the GOP primaries. I even wrote about how voting ABO was not going to do the trick.
;
Certainly there will be plenty of booger-laden fingers pointing the blame at what happened with the Romney campaign and its inability to dispense with the bad guys.
;
– The GM bailout the benefited Ohio
– Hurricane Sandy
– The VP pick
– The female vote
– The Dream Act
;
There are plenty of reasons, but big picture, I believe it goes back to the primaries.
;
I don’t think we put the right dog in the fight.
