I sit here at Mr. Laptop (not to be confused with Mr. Coffee or Mr. Radar) at 4pm central on Saturday afternoon. It’s hot.
The heat comes in some way by means of the fact that it’s early September in south central Texas, but I can’t attribute all of the caliente state of mind just to what the weather outside is doing. It’s only 90 degrees right now.
You see, acclimation has something to do with it. Hundred degree weather is a norm around here this time of year, and so we’re used to it. The same can be said for $3.60 a gallon gas and 8%+ unemployment.
All things being equal, it doesn’t help that I’m sitting against the wall with the western exposure. For those of you who may not be aware of the rotational qualities of this particular planet, it’s choreographed in such a manner so that those of us inhabitants (Earthlings) perceive the sun as coming up in the east and going down in the west.
In summary, sun headed on it’s way down in the west, I’m facing west, it’s hot.
Let’s move on now before this gets tiresome.
Yeah, yeah, I know. Too late.
Earlier this afternoon, I learned that there are free episodes of various shows on iTunes. I hadn’t really used iTunes to watch TV before. For what it’s worth, I don’t seem to use TV to watch TV that much anymore. But of course, that’s probably subject matter for another blog at another time which features a nifty song lyric as it’s title.
Anyway, the show I opted to download to check out is 23 minutes long. Ironically, the progress bar admonishes me that it will take about 40 minutes to download.
Even as I type that statement out in order to call out the irony of it all, I just realized that I could have probably gone to the network’s website and watched it in a streaming fashion (much like a bear gets salmon during their bumpin’ uglies season) instead of downloading it and taking the interim to write something witty and eye catching for today’s blog. The jury is still out on whether “witty” or “eye catching” has been achieved.
Fortunately all was not lost, as I’m listening to Slash live as I compose this dispatch.

Yeah, that should leave some keyboard imprints on my spacious forehead.
Let’s summarize what I’ve done on today’s blog, shall we?
– Movie reference and pic
– Discussion of Texas heat in the late summer months
– Political reference
– Lesson on Earth’s rotation
– Digital media discussion
– Nature discussion on bears and horny fish
– More digital media discussion
– Visual gag with animated gif
My work here is done. All of the things you would have called up on the internet today in a multiple tabbed browser appeared on today’s dispatch in one consolidated space. Now that you’re done, go watch some football.
