To be absolutely honest, I don’t know what irritates me more.
I’m sure you can understand my dilemma.
At least you will in a few moments.
Before this last weekend, I had never heard of any reports that the President had eaten dog meat during his time in wherever the hell it was. But then, it happened and TOTUS & The Symbiant opted to make a joke of it at the expense of Sarah Palin during his obamedy bit at the White House Correspondents Dinner.
“What’s the difference between Hockey Moms and Pit Bulls?”
“Pit Bulls taste delicious.”
Had Cesar Milan been in the audience, he would have charged the stage while dispatching Secret Service Agents with a point of the finger and a firm and direct “Tsssshhhhhh”. Upon getting to the podium, he would have used that cool one armed move comprised of grabbing the President’s neck with his palm in a fashion which would simulate a dog bite, and put him down on his side in a submissive position. Milan would hold the President there in that position until he achieved a calm state.
I’ve got to think Tia Torres in the same position would have just kicked some ass over the remark.
Michael Vick, well that’s a different story. If he’s a fan of the President, I’m sure he would have been among the audience in the hall that night that put on a brilliant display of nervous laughter.
Obviously as a dog lover, I don’t appreciate the premise of eating dogs. Given that a certain pit bull has a special place in my heart, my displeasure for the remark is especially magnified.
Now of course, that’s the obvious objection to the stupid ass remark.
Ladies and gentlemen, this man has had the benefit of a podium and an audience for the better part of four years now. He could go up in front of the cameras holding a cage filled with squirrels bumpin’ uglies and his minions would continue to fawn over him.
Even still, the man is not capable of delivering a good joke. He’s proven this time and time again. It would seem that every time he does attempt to deliver a joke, the only thing he really shows is his lack of respect for anyone outside of his little circle of trust.
I’m not only offended by the remark, I’m offended by the fact that the man continues to attempt comedy.
Someday, ladies and gentlemen, this country will return someone to the White House who can crack a good joke that’s not in poor taste. Regardless of who wins this time around, I’ve got to think we have at least another four years of unfunny people trying to be funny.
Politicians are notoriously not funny people. This is why Steve Martin will never be president (I don’t know if you think he’s funny). But his presidential speeches would amuse at least me.
