Over the coarse (or course) of a career, there’s got to be a point when one who is entrenched in said career has to draw a line in the sand in order to preserve some modicum of personal dignity and respect.
As such, when the troubling yet wonderful opportunity presents itself to call bullshit on things being said and actions being taken, it becomes necessary to seize on it and carry out the directive to the fullest extent that common sense will allow without getting fired.
It’s a sad state of affairs that such opportunities even present themselves. There’s a drive to achieve a certain goal or complete a certain action without respect for the natural process of things. Interlace the fear of being blunt with people at the risk of hurting their feelings or infringing on their delicate sensibilities, and you have a complete and total failure to completely and concisely convey in plain clear English what needs to be done.
In the end, drastic changes are made, feelings get hurt, and a timeline for the task gets pushed back.
In somewhat related news, Friday’s Mega-Millions is at $42 million and Saturday’s Powerball is at $113 million.
Fingers crossed people.
