Well, ladies and gentlemen, today has been a doozy.
Aside from taking Faith to the vet to liberate her of a broken toe, my kids went to see Spiderman today.
Kinda.
Where that issue is concerned, call me J. Jonah Jameson. It’s not that I dislike Spiderman. I’ll most likely go see the movie as well.
The problem is that on the way to the theater to see the film, Junior rear ended a Tahoe who had to slam on his brakes after being cut off by what I can only characterize as a doosh bag.
Yeah, they never made it to the movie. Instead, Wifey picked the kids up and took them home where they continued to ignore their chores.
The Jeep made its way to a body shop to serve as the vehicle in which some city approved mechanic will bilk me and my insurance company out of my presumably ill gotten gains in the financial services industry.
In other news, the new layout for the site here isn’t working for me. It’s almost too minimalist for me compared to what I had before. I’ll continue to mess with it while Faith and her cone of silence continue to hit my leg in hopes of drawing blood.
Big picture, things could have been a hell of a lot worse. The kids are fine and the Jeep was fully insured. Junior now has two accidents on his record in less than two years or driving. Faith is still showing her tenacity. I’m having a problem with a pair of shorts I picked up a month ago being too big in the waist, even though they fit fine back then.
I think George Carlin said it best for this scenario:
“Don’t sweat the petty things and don’t pet the sweaty things.”
Happy Independence Day people. It appears to be going out of style.
