Somewhere in a fifty-something year old dorm room on a campus planted pretty darn close to the northern border of this great state, a couple of young gentlemen who have set out on their own for the first time in their lives live under a rigid honor code.
Keep in mind that said honor code has nothing to do with the standard items like personal space and “bros before ho’s”. Instead, the honor code the two gentlemen cleave to involves the trash.
The trash gets taken out when it is so full, that it’s treasure overflows and falls to the ground. The rule involves the requirement that the gentlemen who adds that one piece of trash to cause the overflow immediately earns the responsibility to take it out.
Needless to say, the trash is stacked quite carefully, much like the game of Jenga.
Speaking of overflowing, my email box has been absolutely littered with two specific pieces of spam for the last two or three weeks.
The first piece has been a job offer involving the transfer of funds from one party to another using my personal bank account.
The second piece has been aggressive efforts by self aggrandizing Ukrainian women who are seeking out a relationship through the magic of spam.
The whole practice of receiving such spam has been quite irritating because it’s come in about every 30 minutes or so. Those of you with smart phones pulling in your email will certainly understand my frustration.
I finally took the opportunity this last weekend to start tracking down the source of the problem. The relationship emails where tracked back to a particular site which features a plethora of pictures of ladies in various states of nekid. Much to my surprise, I managed to find an unsubscribe link and proceed to enter the email address which had recently been plagued.
Three days later, the spam has stopped.
Not just the Ukrainian Hootchie Mama (not really used to putting those words together) mail, but the job offers too.
That’s right people.
One set of emails was a front for the other. Which was which, I don’t know.
As a result of the missing distractions, I was able to dedicate just a little more focus to the demands of cubeville today.
Now, I’m wondering if I can arrange to have that spam sent to me again.
