Otter On Demand

Wifey’s birthday is on April 15th.

For what it’s worth, her twin sister and our nephew share the same birthday.  There’s another nephew and another sister who have birthdays this month too.

That’s tidbit number one.  Tidbit number two is that I’m a lousy gift giver.  I have vivid memories of a time when I was young of being a bad gift giver back then too.

For whatever reason which remains unknown to me at this time, I’m guessing I managed to avoid the pitfalls of tidbit number two for Wifey’s birthday this year.  Add to that the fact that it was pretty accidental as well.

So what did I get Wifey for her birthday?  An Otter Box for her phone.

Granted, she already has one.

Granted, I also put a gift card in the case which can be used at one of her favorite clothing stores.

The wrapping paper was uniquely exquisite, and resembled the bag they gave me at the AT&T store where I purchased the Otter Box.

So why did I get her something that as far as I knew she didn’t need?

That’s a good question.

I’m glad you asked.

One of the pitfalls of the Otter Box for the iPhone is the fact that you can’t use it in tandem with a charging station like an iHome.  Because of this, Wifey has to remove the case from the phone on a daily basis to charge the phone.

Over the last year of using the iHome, the elasticity of her white Otter Box cover has gone a little south.  Buy getting her the new case in a different color (red), I figured she would have the opportunity to switch the color of her phone whenever she wanted.  Deep down, I knew we didn’t need the plastic part of the case, so I was of the mind that we would just store it and the holster clip away for use in the future.

The clincher with this gift was going to be the fact that the gift card for clothing was in there.  I even  told her as she *ahem* “unwrapped” it, that she would have to open it completely up in order to take in the full effect of the gift.

Rest assured she loved the gift card.  Even more, was the fact that she was all for the new Otter Box too.  It would seem that one of the clips on her current box had broken in the last 12 hours or so.  She was planning to ask me if we could go out and buy a new one.

Go figure.

I don’t really have anything else to say at this point.  This is one of those blogs where aimless musing and wandering reigns supreme.

I will tell you this though.

Tune in tomorrow ladies and gentlemen.

I saw something at an upscale shopping center today which not only begged, but outright demanded a mention on TharpSter.Org.  A picture was taken and the text is a matter of minutes from landing on the laptop here.

Boom Shanka y’all.
